We, Soma Resources, Inc., are an independent care facility located in Abilene, Texas that offers a large variety of services and programs designed to help improve the lives of individuals living with developmental disabilities. We aim to develop high-quality programs that help cultivate the skills and talents of residents under our care.
Soma Resources, Inc. first opened in the 1990s with only one location situated in 2 Highlife Circle Abilene, Texas. Over the years — and with the enduring support of our staff and benefactors — we have managed to open five more homes in Texas at the following locations: Royal Court, Over Street, Woodridge Drive, North Willis, and Richland.
Mission
As an intermediate care facility, our mission is to provide training for individuals to live in the least restrictive, community oriented setting possible, within the principles of normalization.
Vision
Our philosophy is the belief that the rights of individuals with developmental disabilities are the same as those of all other citizens. The primary aim of Soma Resources is to develop high quality programs that are individually designed to target each person’s strengths and weaknesses. We are an Intermediate Care Facility, a teaching facility, so each home has the ability to deliver services to our residents, and to foster in him/her the activities which will contribute to the maximum independent functioning of all of our residents.
